In this "series" of posts I'll be telling you guys about some of the patterns and pieces that I simply adore, how and where to get them on a budget. Hopefully this will inspire somebody to try something new!
1. Nautical stripes, big stripes, small stripes, colouful stripes...Stripes, stripes, stripes- This classic print flatters anyone and everyone, bringing an elegant touch to an otherwise relaxed outfit. This spring all sorts of stripes are insanely available, you can surely find just the pattern that works for your body type. Whether it's creating curves or hiding a bit of a podgy belly (like I do). They work like magic and are very cool right now. Dresses, tops, scarves- you name it, they have it.
The easiest way to incorporate stripes into your outfit is to get a simple nautical vest dress like this one from Topshop (32pounds), or just use a stripy tank paired with a high waisted skirt.
A fresh twist on the classic is to go with colourful stripes:
This gorgeous wide skirt from Topshop (once again), is a good way to invest 29 pounds. It's sure to camouflage a bigger hip-area, and the red stripes bring that bit of extra oomph into it, keeping it interesting for a longer time. The preppy classic red-white-blue combination is something everyone should own a piece of!
If you want to go all the way back to the sixties get this absolutely adorable retro-inspired tunic/dress from H&M. And get this: it only costs 12,45 euros if ordered online!
To finish things off, here are some of my favourite inspirations for stripy outfits:
From the top: Marykate Olsen in an amazingly disheveled knit, Miranda Kerr, my personal favourite: Audrey Hepburn and Olivia Palermo channelling her inner sailor.
That's all for now, folks!
xxxxx
