Two years of coupled up bliss

It's my 2 year anniversary with H, but unfortunately we can't spend much of it together as we're both working, so I put together a little somethin somethin here :)
There is no big love story about how we met, we spent about 1 and a half years in the same class, quite happily indifferent to each other, when I started to really like this silly, skinny, cute boy :) One thing lead to another and one of my best friends persuaded me to ask him out, the wimp that I was I asked him out by text :P We actually had our first date exactly two years ago at the cinema, where we went to see the movie about John Lennon "Nowhere Boy", as we both LOVE the Beatles. And afterwards we walked around for a bit and then had chicken wraps at maccy d's. Very PG, I didn't even get a kiss (later he told me that was because he didn't want to scare me off my moving too quickly! haha :). LOOOONG story short, we've been attached by the hip ever since.

Our first ever kissy photo, possibly the first photo of the two of us together :) From a school trip to Sicily. We had spent the previous summer dating sort of under the radar (not exactly in secret, but a little hush hush) so us "coming out"  was a huge surprise for some people.

Still in Sicily. Story behind the pic: on this particular outing my dear H got quite a bit tipsy at a restaurant over the lunch break and as we met up again I had to give him sunnies, water and chewing gum, walk with arms linked so he'd walk straight and avoid the teachers at all costs :P This left me a bit bummed out, but as a surprise photo reveals, it's impossible to stay mad at that cutie!

We went to our ball together (you guys HAVE to see a better piccie of my dress as well) and we had the best time :)

When a man brings you roses and chocolate for no other reason than that he missed you, he's a definite keeper :)

Thinking about the future right now seems quite daunting, as in just four and a half months we have to start our year-long long distance relationship as he goes to complete his mandatory military service and I start my studies in Scotland. But we always manage to pull-through :) Here's hoping that we're in the tiny percentage of High School relationships that actually makes it :P (not that I really doubt it for a second!).

New summer shoes

Weather update from Helsinki: this week has been lovely and warm (up to plus 15 degrees Celcius) with a quite a bit of sunshine. Unfortunately I've been cooped up inside making sandwiches all week, so needless to say I'm beyond excited about my next day off on Sunday. Which also happens to be the day H and I decided to celebrate our anniversary as we're both at work on our real one on the 1st of May.
To elaborate on the summer theme: I got the most adorable pair of f21 leather brogues from the fleamarket for just 5 euros- not much for a "good as new" pair of shoes!

California Dreaming

My friend, B, is currently in California and just finished an amazing weekend at the Coachella festival, while I'm stuck here in Finland where nothing ever happens :P I swear that one day I'll fly off to Cali for the festival, to soak up the sun, the music and all the exciting people. It would be an absolute dream...but till then I think I'm stuck with looking at pictures to take me to a happy place in my mind (or something like that).

So here's some festival fashion inspiration from celebrities and real people alike, Cali style:

My lovely love, H, started his new job at McDonald's this morning and I was excited like a fussy parent on their kid's 1st day at school: doing his hair, feeding him breakfast, giving him a healthy snack to take with... :) Can't wait to hear all about it.

I'm just taking it easy, enjoying my only day off for almost a week and eating froot loops straight out of the box...yum.

Call for help!

I can honestly say that this is the most perfect dress I've ever seen! And what's more amazing is that the girl in the Picture (Jennifer W. on lookbook) has designed this herself. What's not so amazing is that it made it to the top of the "hot" page, cos it damn well deserves to. I have made it my personal mission to buy a similar bodiced dress and add the see through hem. Do you happen to know where I could find ANYTHING similar to this???

BTW, I just made sandwiches (I almost wrote sandWISHES) for 12,5 hours and I feel like a potato.

Hurried clashing

Wanted to spice up my rainy day with a cute clash of prints. Didn't have my camera handy so I actually had to stoop as low as to use a program online with a self time for this pic. Ouch.

My way

Here's two ways I wore my incredibly versatile new favourite babies, the Chelsea boots, this week. The first one was a bit of a twist on the girly way with a skirt and fun volume, while the other one was a rocker take on the more tomboyish style. Let me know what you think! :)

New dress (work as skirt), my fave knit, the shoes, a vintage hat and sunnies. Wore this for a girly coffee date in town with one of my best friends.

This was my day off with the boyfriend look :) Long lie-in and a huge breakfast, sales shopping and a movie (American Reunion. SO funny!) and some lazy tv-time at home. Perfect way to get prepped for my hectic weekend (working all the way through it!).

skinnies and a relaxed top with a biker jacket, a scarf, a knotted turban and the shoes :)

Tried blending the purple lipstick with a bright red one to make it a little less harsh without losing the edge. I also speed curled my hair by braiding loosely and running a straightener over the entire braid a few times. I highly recommend this if you're in a hurry!

A night with Cubus

As I said before, I didn't get up to too much shopping at Cubus, but I did really enjoy the whole atmosphere and feel of the event. For a change I was on the right side of the velvet ropes ;) After a spot of shopping H and I headed to the sushi place right by the mall for a healthy and delicious dinner after a few glasses of champangne. But hey, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves!

my outfit included my wardrobe staple the red blazer and a new pair of leather pants topped off with a pair of heels and a  band tee, as well as a pair of glasses I purchased about 5 mins before the event.
