Stylin off duty

First of all I come to you with a sincere apology on my recent blogging silence. I've been working night shifts at work while battling bronchitis simultaneously. Meaning most of my free time has been spent sleeping. I'm feeling tons better now and I actually have the motivation to dress in something other than my subway uniform :)

My most recent inspiration comes from off duty models. I just can't get enough of the relaxed but really really cool look (and I'm actually trying to duplicate it as we speak).

Well the kids are all hopped up an ready to go (they're ready to go now!)

I managed to find a close up of the new lipstick (although it's already pretty faded in this pic, much more purple when you first apply) as well as another one of my rocker inspired outfits. At least the BF loved this :)

Velvety leggings, converse all stars, loose top, leopard print knit and my new gorgeous BIKER JACKET (and hear this: it was only 2 euros at the fleamarket!). Also featuring my favourite bag of recent times and my new blingy sunnies from h&m.

I'm working this evening with one of my friends (YAY) and I have a day off to party and the such tomorrow (Even more YAY)...although I have work on Saturday afternoon (not so yay, when all you want to do is sleep all day).

H where art thou?

If you think that I've been distracted and busy during my examination period, think again! H has pretty much disappeared off the face of this earth as he's studying an inhumane amount of hours every day. Well, I finally got to have a date with him on Monday (a very hurried coffee and ice cream date) and I also lured him for a quick noodle lunch yesterday (GO ME!). Now I won't see him till Friday, and for a very co-dependent little Ninja that's a long time, considering that our dates were only about 1,5 hours each and I'm used to taking up about ten times that :P Luckily for me he has his last exam on friday and I get him back (muahahahahaaa!)

Whatever will I do when I move to Scotland and that silly boy stays here for his mandatory military training? Gonna be a LOOONG year. Anyone have experiences from LDRs?

For the past few days I've been experimenting with a sort of punk-glam look as spring is quickly approaching and I want to get all of these blacks and greys out of my system :) Here's one of my looks:

Leopard print faux fur jacket, replay wellies, bodycon dress, and hair tied back with a golden hair thingyme from h&m. Also notice my purple lipstick (okay so this is a little far away, I NEED to get you guys a close up).

Hopping on a trend train

PASTELS! So very in (as we all know from the ample coverage of the trend), but I for one am VERY awkward about experimenting with it...and well, colour in general. However, I managed to find this totally lush minty green waistcoat at the fleamarket and it was a total steal for just a EURO (granted, it's not the same pale shade of green that we all covet, but can't quite figure out how to wear). Needless to say I too it our for a spin right after and TADAA! Pastels FTW.

Aforementioned waistcoat, Topshop jeans, Pertti Palmroth flats, thrifted jacket and a basic turtleneck from Gina Tricot. Voila, mes amies!

Inspired by punk rock style I bought a gorgeous dark purple lipstick from makeupstore today to celebrate THE END of my exams. I am now done with everything to do with high school 'cept graduation and I'm just overwhelmed with excitement of what the next year will bring. I'll continue working at Subway until I move to Aberdeen for uni. In between I'll also have time for a super awesome BFF trip to Sweden during Easter break and a summer holiday week to Istanbul with the love of my life. SWEET.

One more down!

Finnish finals today, and I can't decide whether I feel good or bad about it yet. Still sort of iffy. Something I'm NOT iffy about is my OOTD (what an amazing transition :P), especially my gorgeous printed tunic (it is definitely coming with me to uni and you guys will get SICK of seeing it). 

I did the whole matching shoes with hat and bag with sunglasses thing :) Oh and I also wore my favourite sweater for good luck.

I just dyed my hair this afternoon and it's REDDER (not in the pic yet, sunlight just made it look red) and I'm loving it.

Last Friday Night

Had a lovely and relaxing night in with my boy: chocolates, strawberry champagne and Conan O'Brien. Fun fun fun :D Looking forward to the next one.

To celebrate our surprisingly good preliminary matriculation results in mother-tongue I decided to make H one of our favourite dinners: SUSHI. I went out and bought 150 grams of tuna and salmon and made maki, nigiri and sashimi complete with a side of ginger :) mmmmm!

One of them rants

I recently watched the KONY 2012 video about the abduction of children to be soldiers and sex slaves in Africa (mainly Uganda). This happening in my (ex) neighboring country without a lot of the world really knowing till now (especially young people), really makes me pleased about how well social media is able to react and spread awareness to the masses in a matter of days. It really it incredible what normal people can do nowadays if they set their minds to it.

However, I am not too happy about how uninformed the video actually leaves people who watch it. Especially Ugandan locals have made comments about the video spreading outdated information and the campaign glorifying this particular organization. So I haven't quite made up my mind about the charity in question either. I think that the matter is incredibly serious and urgent, but the best thing to do in my uneducated opinion would be to help the healing process going in Uganda and not make this another "war on terrorism". Also, with the video gaining so much popularity, the street campaign and the silly bracelets seem a little useless, no?

Chilly, chilly is the evening time

Winter clothes....AGAIN. I can't begin to even explain how much I'm looking forward to the summer. Not because I have holidays, or graduate...but because I'd actually get to wear something wonderful without the restriction of a jacket and gloves and shoes and a hat. I could be carefree and wear whatever the fuck I wanted to.  FREEDOM OF CHOICE. 

On a better note: the ice track drivinng lesson went pretty well :) I'm still alive and so are the other 2 who were in the car.

Winter clothes. Notice the silly boots, they are a cult classic here. Literally EVERY Finnish parents buys a pair for their kids each winter until they're like 12. Well, my mum never stopped. A crime against fashion, but a life saver when it gets cold.
