The time of my life

Yesterday I treated my bf to a stay at a lovely spa hotel for their annual Christmas party. We got relaxing spa treatments (aka we both fell asleep), we lounged around in the vip lounge in our bathrobes (and downed the can of ice tea), had a lovely three course meal (which I was meant to photograph, but totally forgot, because I was SO hungry), drinks at another lounge and then a bit of dancing at the club. This morning we woke up to a humongous breakfast buffet and lounged around a bit more in our ocean-view room :)  I honestly think that this is the best gift I ever got anybody!
Tomorrow I get to go fleamarketting with the bestest best bud of them all: Sharky! :)

It sucks that it's over, but I'm so happy it happened :D  Makes for good memories of how silly and sweet we were when we were young. I just love how much we just enjoyed each others' company and just chatted away all night...that is until I fell asleep on his lap watching "weird or what". Ahhh, amore!

Fashion report....HELSINKI?!?

Yes, you heard me. On Tuesday (the independence day) the the President had a traditional ball  at her palace with around 2000 of Finland's créme de la créme (so war veterans, mp's, musicians, athletes etc.)... very formal! People tune in mainly to watch everyone  outfits...it's like our Oscars in that sense, except in a sea of blue of gray  "safe choices" (each more boring than the one before) there only tends to be one or two true gems.

This year I absolutely fell in LOVE with the dress singer Jenni Vartianen wore. I couldn't help but share:

This beautiful dress was designed by Katri Niskanen (Finland). In addition to the fun pop of colour I fell in love with the almost regal draping that starts at the shoulders and skims down her back like a cape. The whole styling and colour scheme reminded me of an oriental princess and the jewellery by "Lorukoru" as well as the Alexander McQueen clutch (sigh...) complete the look. All I can say is that I'm jealous that I never came up with the concept :P

I love how the necklace reaches far down the back, almost to the draping.

Randomness is no longer random for me

Noodles, shopping, fro-yo. Perfect afternoon with my perfect bezzie ;) I FINALLY got more of the amazing Aussie 3 minute miracle conditioner (yay!).

Tonight all I have to do is pack for our romantic spa getaway!!! I hope I don't forget my bikini (runs over and packs it).

I'm not one to pursue girliness with dresses in my everyday wear, but while cleaning my room  was inspired to wear this cute little polka-dot number. Of course I had to slouch it up with a parka and the scarf of my life as well as a lovely pair of monki boots!

Happy 94th Birthday Finland!

Independence day is not such a big deal for me, because I think that that's something to be grateful about year-round and not just pretend to care on one day. I do, however, enjoy the random day off :D
Today I had a bit of a Christmas party with the BFF complete with Christmas movies, home made burgers, a gift exchange, manicures and goofing around with the camera. Perfect chilled out day for recovering from a cold!

We tested out this awesome KONAD-nail art set  today. It's pretty much a slab with designs on it and a stamper. It was easy to use, just like the package said. However, it wasn't all that quick, since you had to clean the image plate after each application (not the stamper, though). The images turned out rather sharp every time and the image plate had plenty of patterns to get started with!

I went for this random line and spot design and I love it!

Tadaa! Um,yeah..we still wear matching clothes sometimes, even though are styles are quite different (much to the amusement of our friends and families). Here we're wearing fun wintery leggings from cubus (to celebrate the first SNOW this year!). S has paired them with a cute little shirt dress from god knows where and I'm wearing a top and my MONKI blazer.

I'm going to make this really quick :)
At this minute I'm bursting with love for two things: this song, and the person it reminds me of.

I am not traditionally a lover of song sung by women, just because I find a deeper voice more appealing, but this song is just written for us.

Karma

I don't know what it is that I did in my past life to upset the universe, but it seems like whenever I have a really good streak going I get ill. Bleurg.

But less about sicko-ninja (in all senses of the word) and more about the awesomeness I was subjected to yesterday by my (very tolerant) boyfriend. We went to the biggest department store in Helsinki just to walk around and look at the Christmas displays (and pick up a little something something for my BFF). We also had the BEST ice cream ever (I am now a mövenpick convert!) at the cafe and caught a surprise performance of a legendary Finnish rock star (so nobody too special ;). After more than enough of shopping my man treated me to a delicious Chinese buffet (the way to my heart is though my tum-tum).

But the awesomeness doesn't end here! Then we went to his friend's housewarming party where we assembled a Foosball table and had a bit of a tournament and just had a really chilled evening with great company :) 

Got to sleep in real late today and I felt fine until about 4 when I needed to take a nap, and I woke up all feverish. Ick. But it'll pass.

A quick one

 An unpublished outfit post from last week. I didn't really want to put it up since the pictures didn't turn out great (never asking my mum to take them again ;), but I really love the pants so I just HAD to :P

So just a whole lot of different shades of brown: pants from Zara, trenchy coat from H&M, thrifted shoes and knit and my silly black scarf that I wear ALL the time :)

It's been confirmed...

I'm getting GLASSES!  I'm going to receive a pair of sort of wayfarer shaped glasses and a slightly more rounded pair just before Christmas. And I still don't quite know how to feel about it...
To swing my opinion to the positive side I took a look at some rather fine specimen sported by celebrities (since I can't show you mine yet). I really hope that my mind tricks will work (even though they're on me :P)

I have finally broken my losing streak!

Today I was delighted and excited to find an e-mail from the beautiful and ah-so-stylish Polienne, telling me that I had won a super chic t-shirt dress from Mr. and Mrs. Tweed. Lush! :) I can't wait till it comes and I can actually style it for you lot to see!
Me and H are pretty much jumping out of our pants now :P
