Premature autumn flue

School photos today and honestly I couldn't be arsed about how I look. I got up, threw on a pair of shorts and a tee, did my face and ran out the door. And this exceeded my expectations. Reason: my yearly autumn flue has decided to hit early and I honestly don't feel up to anything.
At picture time I got really mad at the photographer because he called me a really offensive word for short people (in Finnish, no direct translation to Eng.) so that sort of spoiled that for me, but I think the picture turned out alright nevertheless. I also took a group shot with 7 of my closest friends and it ended up being quite the hot mess :P Three people sitting on chairs, H planking on them, me sitting on H and three other people in the back fighting to get in the frame. EPIC!
After school I had chicken Caesar bagels with my girl, J and we actually ran into some old friends. Lovely lovely afternoon, despite feeling a little under the weather.
If I'm not any better tomorrow I'll stay home and do my best to get well, because on Friday H and I are heading with his fam to his grandparents' summer place and I would HATE to miss it :/

Here's my photo day outfit:

Beatles tee, topshop shorts, lindex cardigan

Thrifted earrings and ring from Istanbul

my watch pendant
And my favourite new accessory: MY TEETH :) (zero braces. aaaah!)

All in all another happy day in the life of Ninja, although there are a few things I would definitely change.

Love and kisses.
PLEASE try to avoid the autumn flue, it's really no fun at all (I'm starting to sound like my mum here).

When life gives you lemons, scramble the letters and make melons

This morning I posted that we'd be heading to the summer house. Well something came up, and we had to stay in town. So instead we went for a walk around town (I love that he lives in the center!) and I did a bit of accidental (but much needed!) shopping. I also took him to meet an old friend who works in town and later we split a yummy bagel and a doughnut. mmmmm....DOUGHNUTS!
Because we missed out on a roadtrip today, we're gonna drive down to this really lovely old sea-side town to pick up his parents tomorrow. Can't wait!

OOTD:

A patterned top from Turkey and my trusty TOPSHOP shorts (yep, I didn't pack too many clothes for this week :P)

Topped off with an apple-pendant (barely visible, sorry!) and a cross between moccasins and gladiators (from H&M)

shoes shoes shoes. a woman's best friends:

Gorgeous wellies from replay. They almost look like riding boots/bikers...(I'm having trouble deciding)

Basic black canvas-shoes with a platform. Perfect for a pint-sized little lady like myself!

Some of the day's jewellery:
I ordered these from ASOS a few weeks ago and finally got to wearing some. Today's choices were the bike and the flippers. I'm saving the hot-air balloon (my fave!) for later :)

Girlfriends are the best stylists

Yesterday we made bacon and egg sammies in the morning and watched the biggest loser :) Later we headed to Ikea for some imaginary furniture shopping. I ended up buying a set of 3 spatulas (partly because they cost 50 cents, partly because my horrific cooking ruined one of mum's and I figure it would be a nice gesture...). We had a 2euro lunch there: 2 hotdogs, 2 drinks, a cinnamon bun and 2 coffees. INSANE! I was so full that I barely made it back to his car!
Later I met up with one of my bestest friends in town for some window shopping and just general catching up. We later came back to H's place to play Mario-party . He was having a boy's night and I needed some moral support. So we locked ourselves in his room and played for 2½h (it might'v been nice to play something different for a change, but that's the only game that I'm clever enough to play...)

A slightly sheer dress-shirt from Turkey tucked into a pair of TOPSHOP shorts. Also featuring my new bag.

Topped off with various red details: Sunnies, a red necklace (worn sort of like a cravat) and a ring (see the next picture).

A little over a year ago when we started dating, all my man would wear were PUMA-shirts (most of them incredibly worn out) and black jeans that he'd grown out of. As endearing as it was (really, it was) some advice in the fashion field never hurt :)
Here he is wearing some of his pressies from Turkey:

Chinos from one of the markets and a TOPMAN shirt with the cookie monster on it (how could I NOT buy it?). To prove that he really has developed a sense of style: the blue cradie, which he not only bought all on his own, but also paired with the outfit all alone :)

Adorable, huh?

Today we're driving down to the summer-house for a bit of a getaway, but I'll get back to you lot on Thursday!

Thank you ever so much to all of you who've been commenting, I try to get back to each and every single one of you (and I think I have. Then again I'm so unorganized chances are I missed someone.. :/ )

I wish you lot the bestest of the best!

Tea for two

Today at about noon we headed to town to gather all sorts of yumminess for our picnic. While out we noticed how cool and windy it was, so going out to the islands was not an option. We got a bit goofy and set up a "nest" of all sorts of bedding on the living room floor and had our picnic there! We had an assortment of sushi, fresh peas, chocolate-dipped strawberries and Scottish fudge. All of my favourite food in one meal! :)
After the HUGE meal we ended up falling asleep, right there on the floor, for at least four hours. By the time we woke up, we were hungry again, so H tossed some sausages on the barbie.
What a lovely, lazy day :)
To match the cutesiness of the whole affair I went with a crop-top with a bit of a retro feel from Denim Co and my Topshop shorts

Gotta love the car-print!

So my best friend's currently in France and unfortunately having a bit of a rubbish time, so here's a shout out to her! (She'll only see it when she get's back but still).

Hope everyone's well!

They say you can't buy style, but I sure do try

Yesterday I did my regular fleamarket/vintagemarket/secondhand store rounds with a good friend I haven't seen in a while and we had the best time! I found quite a few things I've wanted for a while, including a knitted vest and a bright red blazer (yum!). I'm sure you'll be seeing some of them one the weather cools down again. Later we had a nice long pizza lunch filled with gossip and other girly things.

A beige tunic from Part Two, MONKI boots, H&M cardigan and the H&M sunnies I bought last thursday.

After trying this colour I don't think that there's going back :)

Today's bag, vintage. My boyfriend thinks that it resembles an old sofa.I love it.

In the evening my boyfriend and I went out for a walk and then had a bit of a BBQ party on the rooftop with  his dog.
Sometimes in the winter I forget how much I love this city. But in the summer it's almost perfection.

A view from the rooftop

The doggy!
My new (very) retro jumper :)

An owl pendant sent to me from my Belgian godmother. She's got serious style!

One of my favourite feather-earrings

A nice steak dinner

Today's simple outfit. I apologize for the lack of pictures of it, but  I couldn't get a good one today (my boyfriend thinks it's because my forehead looks big today. Haha!).  Another one of my quirky thrifted dress shirts and my Topshop shorts.

New espadrilles (2euros thirfted, never worn. Great bargain!)

I have to mention the fact that I have the BEST best friend ever. I came home today to find a package waiting for me. In it a USB chord for and iPod and an iPod charger. I lost mine a while back and have been living without my iPod for too long(so very hard for me). That sweetheart had taken time out of her bus schedule (she's flying to the UK today) to drop them off. Awwww!

The rest of the day will be spent reading blogs (my not-so-guilty pleasure) watching Britain's next top model online (my guilty pleasure) and eating brown sugar and cinnamon pop-tarts (the guiltiest pleasure of them all!). I just finished drinking an ice cold Seattle latte. Perfect way to end a perfect weekend.

Wish you guys all the best!
