The road to Istanbul

Hellooo!

As I said, these are coming in a bit of a funny order, but please bear with me!

I woke up at 6am (ridiculously early compared to my usual routine). Powered by various sources of caffeine I got to the airport and actually found the plane (ok, so my dad was of help...). Despite my fears, the plane didn't fall and we made it to Budapest (Hungary) where we had a bite to eat and a good look around the (rather nice) airport. We made it on the plane to Istanbul, but before we took off an elderly lady had some sort of seizures and we were delayed (fortunately she was taken care of!). We arrived in Istanbul a bit late, but very excited!

Here's some piccies from the way there (since travelling is half the fun!):

My air-travel essentials: something sweet and fatty to eat, coffee to power me, a neck-pillow and an inspiring, entertaining, exhilarating magazine to flip through.

I took a head start into the A/W fashion (never to early to do a bit of backup research).

I had probably the biggest burger of my life in BK Budapest (now is not the time to complain about my unhealthy diet...)

We also treated ourselves to some delish macaroons at the airport :)

I rather enjoyed the airport at Budapest. Great furniture, so-so food-court and plenty of shopping possibilities (on the schengen side, the other side was a bit dissapointing...). I also really like the design of the place...the eye sort of glides on it...

Now I'm gonna finish off my cherries and head to sleep (it's been a looooong day)

The new H&M collaboration is......

Drum roll.....Versace!!!!

The collection (coming out in November) is said to include classic clothes in the spirit of Versace for both men and women, and an interior decorating line!Also Donatella Versace has designed a spring line for H&M coming out next January.


I'm SO excited to see what's coming. I'm expecting gorgeous prints and lustrous leather and just something so exciting it'll blow my mind. eeek!

Saturdays are for partying

Since this is my first post I figured I should probably make some sort of introduction. So, my name is Irinja, but everyone just calls me Ninja. I love working out, shopping, walking my dogs, travelling and writing...among MANY other things. One of my favourite things to do is to shop at my local fleamarket, which leads me to the most exciting finds ever, like my gorgeous FAUX-fur coat, which I got for only five euros!
I'm not very original in my blog concept, since fashion blogs nowadays are like fish in the sea. Just like everyone else I'll be giving you a glimpse into my day-to-day styles, fashion faves and whatever else I might come up with.

To the actual point of this post... A friend of mine is turning 18 today, so a celebration is in order! Just a small girl's night, which is exactly what I need after this intense spring of balancing school and work. Hopefully it'll be as fun as I expect and I'll meet some cool people.
And obviously a party isn't really a party if you can't strut your stuff in an incredible outfit! After tons of careful consideration (picking an outfit's never too easy), I decided to go with this very simple but (hopefully!) chic ensemble:

A fitted T-shirt dress from the fleamarket (50 cents!!!), a basic gray blazer  from H&M (25euros, if I remember correctly) and a pair of buckled booties from H&M (30euros) 

I fell in love with the scooped back of the dress! (sorry about the crappy picture)

As a vintage-y finishing touch, I'm planning on wearing my gran's old handbag, Nateva design. Damn, she had it going on in the sixties!!!

UPDATE: That was one hell of a party. Met heaps of new people (just like I wished) and had some pretty random conversations (about dual flush loos). On a fashion note, I decided my outfit needed a bit of colour so I opted for a bright red lip stain to top things off. Three separate people (strangers) complimented me on how foreign I looked. I also kept hearing that I looked somewhat french.
