Summary of my day: school, choir, noodles, driver's ed (that I almost fell asleep in). So much to do and so little time, but thank god this is our last full week before the hols.

Here's a peek at my outfit consisted mainly of my shopping from yesterday. Also, I do apologize for my hair, it curls when it rains.

Thrifted faux fur jacket, jeggings, blazer from yesterday and a basic top.

I accessorized with this gorgeous briefcase and my new flats (for a better image see the previous post, they're lush)

What's not to love?

Today was fleamarket day with my bestie. The perfect way to catch up and chill out. Shopping+hotdogs :) We came back to my house for some veggie lasagna and our reality tv fix. Perfect way to spend the day with someone super special.
I made some great finds once again. I surprised myself by not buying any shoes or bags today!
With today's outfit I stuck with the 80s theme and ran with it:

Vintage 80s blouse, pieces jeggins and chucks.

Who doesn't love an old, worn out pair of converse? NOT ME.

I'm gonna try out a look tomorrow I've had in my mind for AGES, but never had the time or the right mood to. Don't hold your breath, it's very simple (and been done about a billion time before)...but I just love it :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, lovelies!

Somewhere over the rainbow

This morning was grey and rainy, so I decided to brighten it up with a bit of colour-blocking (great excuse to wear those new shoes and that blazer I've been dying to buy!). Another lazy day. Went out for a walk in the morning and made a lovely pizza dinner for the bf in the evening when he got back from work (once again: yes  I'm the best girlfriend).
I feel I've been a bit lazy with my outfits lately, but there's only so much you can do in the summer heat!
Istanbul countdown is well on it's way. Only Wednesday and Thursday to go!

Red, vintage 80s, linen blazer. Love! Wore it over a pair of black jeggings and a top from Gina Tricot.

Necklace from GLITTER

Owl ring from Seppälä

Lazy day tip: pile your hair on top of your head and use a plethora of pins. Easy-peasy and  casual chic.

Pizza with prosciutto, pineapple, mozzarella and rocket from our own backyard. With a side of green garden salad (also from our own garden) with olives and prosciutto. Pretty much a perfect meal in my humble opinion.

As you can probably tell I'm in an insanely good mood for a change (almost to the point of hysterics). Reason: the iPod is back in order (thanks to my bff), I swear life is dull without a perpetual stream of music.

Thanks to all of you lovely people who have been taking time to comment and follow, you make my day every day!

Grey to match the sky

Another cooler day. My BFF+E (forever and ever) got back from Hungary yesterday, so I went to her house to drop off some magazines and say hello. I ended up staying for 7 hours :P We watched two movies: Eat, Pray, Love (not as good as I expected) and Ferris Bueller's day off (Hilarious. Lots of 80's fashion- loved it!). Then we did chocolate facials and watched the biggest loser (while eating chocolate pralines...yeah.).

I especially fell in love with Sloane's fringed jacket- (couldn't find one good picture, but I hope these get the message across) and high-waist shorts combo. Look at the volume of it in the last picture. LOVE!

Just another simple outfit: jeggings, flowy top from VERO MODA and a blazer from H&M. Also a pair of kitten heels, since they're supposed to be making a comeback. Well, that pair is definitely not making a comeback on my feet, because they we're paaaaainful!!! I have done my fair bit of walking in heels, but those were really something, pulled the skin right off of my toes.

Borrowed from the blokes

You might not have noticed yet, but one of my greater loves when it comes to fashion is a bit of good ole cross-dressing. Both ways. It was funny how I kept getting weird looks while out today. It's as if the great Marlene Dietrich's legacy doesn't extend this far north. While I always like to keep a touch of femininity in what I wear, I commend anyone who takes it for themselves to break gender boundaries, it really takes that extra bit of confidence I seem to be lacking in.

I would marry these shoes if I could! I found these dapper men's dress shoes while vintage-shopping yesterday and get this: for just TWO euros! Even at a few sizes too big they are so comfortable and really give a basic jeans and t-shirt outfit that extra ooooooomph.

Modern dandy. I believe this is my first jeans look for you lot, which surprises me since I really live in my jeggings.  It's just been too hot to wear them lately. Blazer from MONKI, t-shirt from the recycling center (for free!), same watch pendant as yesterday (yes, I love it. So?), my new favourite hat and my chained purse.

Today I went to my orthodontist in the morning (whopee, I know. But it wasn't so bad). The temperature dropped from 30 degrees Celsius to only just above 15. It's been pouring all day...AND I LOVE IT! I guess growing up in Africa, you just learn to associate good things with rain. And the smell of it. mmmm. Had a quick lunch with my boyfriend and then went shopping with my friend (and gorgeous clothes guru) at IKEA. There I found some much needed clothes hangers, that will hopefully help me sort out this (controlled) mess I call my bedroom. Afterwards we had some of the famous IKEA hot dogs. After we got back to town we did our regular high-street rounds and I found a lovely baby-blue nail polish and a bunch of bracelets from H&M (only 3 euros total).

All in all quite a productive day. Now I'm bundled up under my duvet on my couch. I can still smell the rain from my open window, and the humming of my laptop is so comforting (awfully poetic, I know). This blog has really become a bit of a lifeline for me, and a good one at that.

As I always say: 'till tomorrow!
