Making Christmas

Yesterday I was absolutely shocked to hear that H had never made traditional plum tarts at Christmas so we immediately went out and got the supplies and I taught the poor guy how to bake (I mean he has to know how to cook if he ever wants to marry me!)

Here's how it went (and a few ootd pics, with a peek into my bedroom):

I took my new coat out for a test drive: PERFECT! I love the slim shape of it, because I can  play with volume better.

I wore: Vintage leather cutoffs, white shirt from Rome, Red vintage (80s) blazer, my coat (!) and a pair of my fave shoes that I just fixed :)

I accessorized with a tartan scarf and matching earrings as well as the beaded double ring from my haul post.

Since I was having a bit of a bad hair day I went with a braided and knotted hairstyle, which was a huge hit.

And to the baking:

even the folding was easy for him

Voila! Lovely brown, sugary tarts :D

10 days till Christmas!!!

EDIT:
Seems I forgot the ring from the haul-post...oops. But I guess it's never too late!

It's the lovely brass-knuckley  one with pearls

My Friday Best

Today was church day at school. I have to admit that I'm not really a church person at all (more of a Buddha/spiritual yahoo person actually), but you do what you have to do. We have to dress up, which made it that bit better (I mean who doesn't love dressing up?). The only other thing I look forward to in school church is the little ones getting up and singing...Well, they didn't :P Maybe next time (it's just TOO cute...and I don't even like kids!).
H and I went out for pancakes after school to catch up on this hectic week.
When I got home I did some delicious baking with my sister for her godmum's birthday or something and we're planning to have a yummy movie-night later today. Yay for sisters :) We used to not get along at all, but somehow we've been hanging out a lot lately (maybe because the poor thing usually has to take my blog pics :P).
Tomorrow I see my bestie for the first time since school started. God, I miss her!!!

I decided to take two 80s trends: playsuit and shoulder-padding and wear them in a modern way (not that it hasn't been done a million times before ;) Here's the outcome:

Playsuit from Turkey +a vintage 80s blazer+my favourite heels (DINSKO) = perfect outfit for churching.

Notice the gorgeous,HUUUGE ring on my chubby little finger :) Got it from Istanbul.

I get into more and more dangerous stunts in search of the perfect picture...but sometimes it's so worth it :)

THE shoes. You've seen them before, you'll see them again. No question about that :)

I've been getting so many supportive comments lately and it is so incredibly fulfilling that somebody is enjoying the fruits of my labours :) That's what keeps me coming back every day. So thank you (especially to a few of you who take time to comment every single day! )

Have a SUPER weekend :)

I wish I was a rainbow

Yesterday was rainy on the outside, but all sunshine for me :) I finally got one of my best mates back from the states and we caught up over some lunch. Afterwards I met up with my boyfriend, drove up to my place and Headed to the rainy forest for some OOTD pics. Later we had tiramisu while watching a TERRIBLE "horror" movie about a nanny who kills people...yeah, complete waste of time. Afterwards we played a bit of scrabble (my favourite :)

I love love love rain :)

The Who- shirt from a market in Istanbul, leggings and a 2nd hand blazer. Pretty basic :)

Vintage men's dress-shoes. A few sizes too big, so what?

For some reason my computer wouldn't connect to my new camera (even though I downloaded the software) so I had to wait until I got a memory card reader thingyme-bobby. Got it+it works= happy Ninja.

Somewhere over the rainbow

This morning was grey and rainy, so I decided to brighten it up with a bit of colour-blocking (great excuse to wear those new shoes and that blazer I've been dying to buy!). Another lazy day. Went out for a walk in the morning and made a lovely pizza dinner for the bf in the evening when he got back from work (once again: yes  I'm the best girlfriend).
I feel I've been a bit lazy with my outfits lately, but there's only so much you can do in the summer heat!
Istanbul countdown is well on it's way. Only Wednesday and Thursday to go!

Red, vintage 80s, linen blazer. Love! Wore it over a pair of black jeggings and a top from Gina Tricot.

Necklace from GLITTER

Owl ring from Seppälä

Lazy day tip: pile your hair on top of your head and use a plethora of pins. Easy-peasy and  casual chic.

Pizza with prosciutto, pineapple, mozzarella and rocket from our own backyard. With a side of green garden salad (also from our own garden) with olives and prosciutto. Pretty much a perfect meal in my humble opinion.

As you can probably tell I'm in an insanely good mood for a change (almost to the point of hysterics). Reason: the iPod is back in order (thanks to my bff), I swear life is dull without a perpetual stream of music.

Thanks to all of you lovely people who have been taking time to comment and follow, you make my day every day!
