As it is I'll dream of you tonight

What and extraordinarily ordinary day. Besides waking up next to the man I love, I did nothing too amazing or memorable today. Just school and chilling with the family.
Tomorrow, however, is the day I have been waiting for two years now: I get the rest of my braces out.Ahhh, I can't even imagine how it will feel to leave this unfortunate episode of my life behind me. No more torn and ripped lips and cheeks, no more painful tightening and no more ickyness from all the food stuck in them. Mmmm...

What's not to love?

Today was fleamarket day with my bestie. The perfect way to catch up and chill out. Shopping+hotdogs :) We came back to my house for some veggie lasagna and our reality tv fix. Perfect way to spend the day with someone super special.

I made some great finds once again. I surprised myself by not buying any shoes or bags today!

With today's outfit I stuck with the 80s theme and ran with it:

Vintage 80s blouse, pieces jeggins and chucks. 

Who doesn't love an old, worn out pair of converse? NOT ME.

I'm gonna try out a look tomorrow I've had in my mind for AGES, but never had the time or the right mood to. Don't hold your breath, it's very simple (and been done about a billion time before)...but I just love it :)

Channelling Glasto

It was rainy again. I saw my wellies and they reminded me of pictures I've seen of Glastonbury style. I went all the way and did the whole wellies and shorts thing and I think I'm going to have my own imaginary festival in my bedroom with a lineup of my choice and just jump around and freak out like I was in a mosh pit :)
I FINALLY got my bestie back from France and the UK. Thank goodness. We caught up at the fleamarket, where we both made very good finds. The girl literally showered me with gifts (including a gorgeous floral playsuit from New Look and lots of food).Later we bummer a ride home with H, which was pretty funny (we had a little party in the backseat).

Crocker cut-offs paired with a flowy top with lace details (Gina Tricot) and an extended waistcoat (MONKI). Accessories include a little handbag with a quilt-print and sunnies in the style of Lennon.

I didn't even buy these. I mention to my friend that I need new ballet-flats (the Zanottis are almost dead) and hey-presto there's a pair waiting for me in her bag. God, she knows me well!

The rest of my second to last day of holidays is going to be spent over a pile of magazines, mozzarella pizza and the clotted cream fudge my friend (let's call he S, shall we?) brought :) Perfection. Road-trip again tomorrow!!! :)

Flipping hippies

Today I went to the World Village Festival, an event which features live music, food and arts and crafts from various countries. I got there quite early (ahem, 11am) and I managed to catch a Tanzanian guy singing in Swahili, which was pretty amazing and made me rather homesick. I went for a walkabout with my boyfriend and made him try some of my favourite food from when I was growing up in TZ (pilau, maharagwe and mboga). We caught the last few minutes of an accapella group performing and ate too much cotton candy.

The highlight of the festival was when Hazmat Modene, a jazz-ish band from NYC performed. Though their opening speech gave a rather awkward  impression of them (so, umm... nice seagulls you have here. Very nice), they redeemed themselves the second they started playing. You could really see the variety of people in the audience: hippies, hipsters, nerds, young people, older people, people of various ethnicities. It was truly incredible! Though the band was amazing, the true entertainment of the gig came from the hippies, who cleared out a small space for themselves in the crowd and were having a sort of rave, dancing like nobody was watching.

My festival get-up: braving the cold and the rain in my trusty duffel coat, blue jeans, a pair of Chuck Taylor's, one of my new bags (form last post), a printed scarf and a black vest (top). And my bag of cotton candy!!!

Now my boyfriend's falling asleep from boredom next to me, so I should probably leave it at this. 'Till next time.
