The outfit

So what did I wear to meet my tweenhood crushes?

A little bit of this and that:

I felt like mixing prints today: a bikini top from god knows where + printed shorts from Gina Tricot, toned down with  a navy-blue MONKI dress (worn as a top here)= Something I would love to wear on holiday to like the French Riviera (keep dreaming). Topped off with my H&M kid's gladiators and wayfarer-style sunnies. Simple ;)

I fell in love with these casual chic shorts yesterday while sales shopping and I had to get them. Good thing they were only 5 euros!!! I love sales...

Rocking orange nailpolish (from Magnetic) for a popping contrast and a simple twisted gold-coloured chain from Glitter.

That's all folks!

Have a rocking week.

Simplicity appeals to the Scandinavian eye

While devouring one of my favouritest blogs, yes dear, I noticed that she has a competition going on with spartoo where bloggers get the chance to win a 100 euro gift card to it. All you have to do is find a pair (or in my case PAIRS) of shoes that you like and blog about them. Sound easy? Well, it isn't. The website is full of shoes (my weakness), one more beautiful than the other. I also have a history of never winning anything (but never say never, right?).

I think I took my "job" a little too seriously because I actually looked through every single pair of women's shoes in order to make an educated decision. While browsing, my eye kept jumping to the more intricate pairs of shoes (oh, there were some gorgeous ones), but I turned them down one by one (because I'd have nothing to wear with them). Instead, I discovered that living in this country has really left a mark on me, since all the shoes that I bookmarked had a certain minimalist thing going on. I have never really felt in touch with my nationality (having lived abroad for so long), but after seeing the results of this undercover shoe-test I'm beginning to notice that I still have the odd bit of Nordic blood running through my veins.

Suomeksi: Lueskellessani erästä lemppari-blogiani, yes dear, löysin spartoon sponssaaman kisan bloggareille (kipin kapin osallistumaan sinäkin siitä!), jossa piti kyseiseltä saitilta etsiä omat suosikki kengät. Minulle niitä kuintekin kertyi kymmeniä (joista teidän onneksenne karsin huomattavan osan pois). Tuli siinä sivussa huomattua kuinka suomalaisuus tekee paluuta minuun, rakastuin nimittäin paljon yksinkertaisempiin kenkiin kuin yleensä. Pidemmittä puheitta alla todellisia kenkä-aarteita:

Without further ado here's some inspiration in the form of shoes:
Betty London- Mesise (50 euros). At a glance these gladiators are really the odd pair out. But they are simply the most perfect gladiator-sandals I could imagine (actually I might have imagined them a few times in day dreams). I love how basic, rustic and antique-y they look. The clasps are perfect and the colour is sublime. Come to think of it, most of the Betty London shoes I spotted were incredible. New fave? Maybe!

Betty Londonin Mesise-gladiaattorit. Ahh... Betty Londoning muutkin kengät oli muuten ihania, elikkä taitaapi olla ihan uus lemppari löytynyt!

LOLA-wedges (53 euros). Sleek, simple, perfect. YUM! Come to mummy!

LOLA-kiilat. Niin herkullisen yksinkertainen yhdistelmä puuta ja nahkaa. NAMI!
AMAZONAS (119 euros). I love how playful these are while still being a really sexy pair of red heels.  They look so...touchable!

Nämä ei ole ihan mitkä vaan punaiset kengät, vaan leikkisän seksikkäät. Varmaan myös tosi sileä, kosketeltava pinta.

Sefda Cognac (84 euros). I've been looking for a great pair of wedged shoes I could wear with jeans and  skirts- these would certainly be a great candidate (Ok, the ONLY option). I love the warm tone of the leather (or faux-leather?) and the rope detail and just the general "spirit" they convey. I want.
These are also available in my favourite colour: black. If I won, one (maybe two) pairs of these would grace my shelves before you had the time to say COGNAC! What an orgasmic pair of shoes...

Nämä Sefda Cognac- kengät on täydellinen unelma: ihana lämmin väri ja kaunista naru yksityiskohtaa. Olen ettinyt just tämmöisiä mm. Ruotsista, mutta ei oo vielä tullu vastaan. Jos voittaisin nää ois mun hyllyllä kädenkäänteessä (mutta ei ne siellä pitkään ois ku niille on niin paljon käyttöä!). Suorastaan hekumalliset!

Wish me luck because these shoes ROCK and I would love to own a pair. And if lady luck forsakes me (yet again) I have found some drool-worthy shoe-spiration for sad and rainy days. So I guess it's a win either way. Thank you Spartoo and Piu for this opportunity!

Thank you lovelies for reading!

Glam-iators let loose

A kaftan-y tunic-y type of thing (with shorts under!)

Some sort of gladiator sandals, only one euro from the (need I say?) fleamarket.

One of my favourite bags

And some jewellery from Tanzania:

Don't you love it when you see and old friend and you pick up right were you left things? Well that's the story of my day! We went shopping but just ended up walking in circles and chatting for HOURS. It's great to know that even though I might not see her all the time, she's still here for me.
Despite the distractions, I did happen to find quite a nice necklace for 3,60 euros (-70% !!!) and a hair-repair treatment thingy (which I'll tell more about later once I figure it out).
Today's my last day dogsitting the puppy...and as icky as it is sometimes I think I'll actually miss it!
I have great plans on what to wear tomorrow, I just hope I still like it in the morning (I'm prone to mood-swings) :)

Lots of love,

Irinja
